We're building a world where less is more
UShare started with a simple question: why does every household own a power drill when most are used for less than 15 minutes a year? We are on a mission to reduce waste, save money, and bring communities closer together through the power of sharing.
Our Mission
We believe that most of the things we need already exist somewhere in our neighbourhood. Our mission is to unlock the value of idle items by making it safe, easy, and rewarding to share with the people around you.
Every item shared is one less item manufactured, shipped, and eventually sent to a landfill. By choosing to rent instead of buy, our community is making a meaningful contribution to a more sustainable future, one drill, one tent, and one ladder at a time.
Community First
We believe the strongest communities are built on mutual trust and generosity. Every rental is a chance to connect with a neighbour.
Sustainability
The average power drill is used for only 13 minutes in its lifetime. By sharing, we dramatically reduce waste and environmental impact.
Accessibility
Everyone deserves access to the tools and equipment they need, regardless of income. Renting makes that possible.
Local Impact
Money spent on UShare stays in your neighbourhood. Every rental supports a local person instead of a big-box retailer.
Born in Vancouver
UShare was founded in Vancouver, a city known for its progressive environmental values and strong sense of community. We started by connecting neighbours in Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant, and Commercial Drive, and quickly grew across the entire Lower Mainland.
Vancouver's high cost of living makes sharing especially valuable here. Why spend $400 on a pressure washer you will use twice a year when your neighbour down the street is happy to rent theirs for $40 a day? UShare turns that common-sense idea into a trusted platform.
Sharing Is Sustainable
Our community's collective impact is growing every day.
Tools, gear, and equipment kept in circulation instead of sitting idle.
Collective savings for our community by renting instead of buying.
Estimated carbon emissions avoided through shared ownership.
Products that did not need to be manufactured, shipped, and eventually landfilled.
